“Sumi-e, also known as Suiboku-ga, is a form of Japanese ink painting that uses black ink to create monochrome images on paper. It's rooted in Chinese calligraphy and often incorporates philosophy and religion. Sumi-e emphasizes expressive brushstrokes and capturing the essence of a subject rather than detailed realism”. All materials are included. No experience necessary

14+, max. 15 students, $5.- per student

All Hokusai classes are subsidized by the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission, in connection with the COD Public Arts Project
