6 Week Course: Mondays, August 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st, Sept. 14th, and 21st, 6 pm - 8 pm
This course introduces students to the Foundational hand; a classic and highly structured script rooted in Roman letter forms. It is designed for beginners as well as those looking to refine and strengthen their lettering skills. Emphasis will be placed on precision, rhythm, and consistency.
Students will learn proper tool handling, including the use of broad-edge nibs, ink control, and correct paper positioning. Instruction will focus on stroke construction, foundational letter forms, spacing, and overall composition.
By the end of the course, students will be able to apply their skills to simple design projects. The class will also introduce basic gilding techniques for illuminated lettering, adding an elegant and traditional finish to their work.

12+, $120.- for 6 classes, includes supplies for projects. If you do not have basic Calligraphy supplies they will be available for an additional supply fee paid directly to the instructor.
